Burning Permits for Township Residents

Burning permits are available for Township residents at the fire station.  They are perpetual, so for as long as you reside at the address of the burn permit, you will not need a new one.  You can get one on any Tuesday night between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM or Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Once you obtain a permit from the fire department, you will need to contact the St. Croix County Communication Center (SCCCC) at (715)246-6131 or (715)386-4701 to inform them that you would like to burn.  If there is a ban, SCCCC will inform you that it is not okay to burn until the ban is lifted.  It is prohibited to leave the fire burning unattended, and you may only have one fire burning at any one time.

Employment

Somerset Fire/Rescue is always looking for new recruits.  We hire volunteers with little or no experience or with years of experience.  We look for those that are interested in the sometimes fast paced world of firefighting and EMS but also want to give back to their community.  If you are interested in more information, stop up at the station on any Tuesday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM or Saturday mornings between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM and chat with an officer or member of the department.  Thanks for you interest!!
